System Restore To Get Wireless Connection

After turning on my computer I can't get an internet connection, or even a router connection unless I do a "System Restore".
Anyone know what this means and how to fix it?

I am using windows xp if that matters.

Thanks

For example and it could be very wrong is that I saw this when an antivirus expired. To work this, a lot more digging would be needed.

Sadly I think repairing Windows should be the next big thing Microsoft should fix.

Is it the kind of digging that I could do or do you think it's non repairable from where I stand?

Any guess will be a guess. When you post there are some words in red to save you time. It asks for make, model and details.

Given only what you tell, the fix is going to guessed and guessed many times.

The computer is a Dell Dimension 8200 with Intel(R), Pentium(R), and 4 CPU

The operating system is a Windows XP Home Edition version 2002, service pack 3

I'm not sure, but I think the model# is chk7321. It's the only number that I could find on the back of the computer.

If you need any more info, please let me know because I would love to get to the bottom of this.

Thank you

This makes me think there is some wifi card added in. Look for that card and see if new drivers are available.

I'm using a Linksys USB Network adapter with speed booster.

yes i had this problem and could not even find my connection this was due to an update so i had to restore from a past date, but if the connection is there and u want to reinstall drivers then hardwire it to your router

Thanks s77teve. I'll look into reinstlling the drivers.
What are you talking about hardwiring to the router?
