web hosting advice

Hi,

I'm a newbie, but need to create a website for a professor. What's the difference, if any, between UNIX and Windows hosting? I'm finding different prices for them...
I'll be using Dreamweaver to create the pages (and still learning to use it).

Also, if you know of any good, cheap hosts, that'd be great (I'm thinking of using Aplus.net).

Thanks a lot!

The Windows hosting had GUI interfaces for about everything meaning a lower barrier to those that didn't want to edit files or learn as much. Today's Linux hosts (very rare to find UNIX hosting still) have improved but they often have us edit a configuration file as well as know the basic FTP use.

If both have SQL I've found either to work well enough but the Windows hosts often have lower limits.
