Question about swapping new harddisk

Hi Forum,

I am going to get new macbookpro with i7 2.2 ghz, 8gb ram, 750Gb 5200 Rpm Harddisk. This notebook is bought by my cousin from Singapore on holiday so if I need to cuztomize my harddisk to 500GB 7200 rpm may take weeks to arrive and I couldnt wait any longer since my cousin isnt staying that long in Singapore.

My question is 5200 rpm is too slow for me because I came from using SSD in my sony. I would like to know the procedure on what do i need to do if I wanted to swap a new harddisk!

1) What's the backup software/program do I need? or I could just use apple recovery disk to reinstall the OS in the new harddisk? (I dont need my files anyway).

2) What's the procedure? Can I just replace the hhd and boot my macbookpro with apple original factory recovery disk? Is that easy?

3) What steps of caution do I need to take care of when doing this process? (I am a new apple user).

4) What Brand of HDD do you recommend? Stable and Fast (except SSD).

Thanks in advance
