XP USB Hair puller outer - please help. Driving me mad

Hi all,

I am a musician and use my PC to make music. I have Windows XP Pro SP3.

Just two day ago I reformatted everything. I plugged in my USB music keyboard and it worked fine.

This morning I do not know if this is relevant but I reinstalled my Webcam. Since then my USB music keyboard will not work.

I have gone into sound and audio devices and look under the hardware tab my music keyboard is correctly listed so XP seems to see it. (However why is it under sound and audio? It is simply an input device and makes no sound?)

I have tried changing USB ports and each time I do XP tells me my device is installed correctly.

So if XP can see this how can no music software?


Im guessing no one will be able to help me with this as it truly is baffling.

I do appreciate greatly any help.
